ICFB In The Classroom 

Our Initiatives 

The Imperial County Farm Bureau has always been an avid supporter of agricultural education among the youth in the community. Stemming from 3rd graders for Reading with a Farmer to high school students learning about what the Imperial County Farm Bureau does, what memberships they qualify for, and how ICFB can help them further their education in agriculture through scholarships. ICFB has participated in various events such as Reading with a Farmer, Career Days, FFA contest and so much more.

Applications for Taste & Teach are now open! 

Selected winners receive a gift card to Raley’s, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods, or Stater Bros. Markets to purchase featured fruits, vegetables, and nuts for classroom taste tests.

Winners also receive a resource booklet packed with helpful tools, including step-by-step instructions for leading a taste test activity that aligns with California Academic Standards.

Literacy for Life Grants

​The Literacy for Life Grants support California PreK–12 educators in bringing agriculture to life in the classroom. With awards of up to $750, these grants help teachers launch new projects or expand existing programs that promote agricultural literacy through hands-on learning. Explore inspiring project ideas and discover how past recipients have used this funding to enhance agricultural education on their campuses. Applications also serve as the selection process for the Outstanding Educator of the Year.
